Instead, they shared some very valuable insights in to what businesses can do to make our relationships as mutually beneficial as can be.

The biggest mistake many businesses make, particularly in the entertainment industry, is losing focus on what you want to accomplish. It’s very important to get all the ducks in a row and make sure all departments and decision makers are on the same page, whether it’s to actually make a movie or create the marketing campaign.

The biggest mistake I have noticed with businesses’ communication is a failure to extend the conversation with customers. Sometimes a business will post a promo, a picture, etc. to its Facebook wall or on Twitter and customers will comment, only to have no reply. In that case, the business looks money-hungry and selfish, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but at least engage your readers and act like you care.
