Satellite Marketing

Learn How to Use Social Media for Business in 4-hours. Guaranteed.*

In this workshop, we introduce the concept, principles and process of “Satellite Marketing“, a communications strategy designed to connect an organization with its target markets via social media sites and services, including social networks, blogs, micro-blogs, photo sharing, video sharing, event sharing, bookmarking, widgets – all of it!. When developed and deployed properly, these social media sites and services act as marketing sub-stations, or “Satellites”.

Satellites are used in addition to, or in place of, traditional media, such as print, radio, television, direct mail and outdoor advertising. The goal is to expand the reach of the organization and enhance the results by creating relationships.

I attended your workshop at Westfield State College about a month ago. Since then, I set up a Facebook page for MindWing Concepts- which in two weeks has acquired 228 members and counting! I also set up a wordpress blog – and linked it to our Facebook page. I then have been updating these blog entries on delicious, digg it, etc., via Facebook.

Today, via ustream.tv, we did a presentation entitled: “Narrative Intervention for Improving Language, Cognitive & Social Skills in Children with Asperger’s Syndrome & High Functioning Autism: MindWing’s Hands-on Approach.” We uploaded to slideshare.net a 41 page PowerPoint handout to correspond with the presentation.

We had 172 people log on to watch our ustream.tv presentation. People from Canada, Puerto Rico, NY, MA, VA, KY, TN, GA, FL, CO, TX, MI, CA, WA, and many more tuned in! This is AMAZING, because our customers are educators which means they had to make arrangements to tune in during the school day! Also, 276 people have already viewed our powerpoint on slideshare.net.

The feedback was fantastic! Although this was just our first attempt at “distance learning”, this may be a way for us to scale our business – which has always been our biggest challenge. Since people mostly buy our products and services after seeing a demonstration, another big hurdle we’ve always had is how to get our message across to people who have not attended a workshop with us. You helped us to find a way to overcome this hurdle!

I got ALL of these “satellite marketing” websites and ideas from your workshop. I cannot express how helpful that workshop was for our business. Since today was a test, I only sent out TWO e-newsletters advertising it and only posted something on FB & WordPress this week. Can you imagine the response the next time we do it, if I advertise more than once on these sites?

Thank you so much for all of the information you shared with us at your workshop. I have never actually been to a workshop before where I felt that what I learned truly impacted my business. From a marketing and sales standpoint I really think that your workshop will increase my sales and take our business to another level!

  3. My thoughts on Kevin’s Satellite Marketing workshop on “Using Social Media to Sell”:

    WHAT I LIKED:
    + Informative
    + Comprehensive
+ High-Level enough for ADD types, but not overly technical for a “newbie” such as myself
    + Captivating
    + Engaging
    + Inspiring
+ Incredibly infectious (A week later and I’m still singing its praises to colleagues and friends)
    + Relevant
+ Intimacy of the small group setting
    + Connectivity
+ Known Expert (Kevin is now my “go to” for all my Social Media inquires)

    WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
    - It ended
    - I was excited for Monday so I could start working on a Social Media plan (the Workshop was Friday)

Was it worth it? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to others? Without question! I look forward to future Ideahaus workshops.

  4. KP – Your workshop got my mind spinning around what new satellites to launch that will bring back the biggest ROI. The workshop was a great size to share ideas and get immediate feedback. I really appreciate your teaching style, as it was engaging and inclusive. You helped me make connections and problem solve right there, without spending time after the workshop is over to figure out what to do next. I loved that! Thank you for taking time to help out Big Brothers Big Sisters with ideas that will help us be able to reach more kids who need a mentor!

    Kevin,

WHAT A GREAT WORKSHOP! I have been to a bunch of workshops where right around hour two you are looking for quiet exit, but your “Using Social Media to Sell” workshop had me watching the clock fearing it would eventually end.

Great stuff and extremely actionable. Not more than 3 hours after getting out of the workshop, the President of our company and our entire Sales team scheduled to meeting to get us off the bench and into the game.

Can’t thank you or recommend you highly enough!

    • Thanks, Bryan – I was worried when you were looking at your watch ;-) Please make sure to share your progress with us, and ask when you have questions on implementation – that’s how we roll at Ideahaus ;-)

I want to be as good a facilitator as Kevin when grow up! I mean it! I have been to dozens of seminars and workshops and have been a guest speaker many times at the venerable Disney Institute. I’ve seen them all up close and personal. I predict that Kevins exposure to business leaders is going to explode in the next several months and years. Why…not only is his personal brand unforgettable but his work is content is relevant. He is no “johnny come lately” to the flavor of the month club as so many others are. He has a 20 year track record of being one of the first to market with his cogent delivery of timely content.

I highly recomend his services and consider him the “Rock Star” of Satellite Marketing!

  7. Kevin thanks for leading a great work shop! It has definitely given me some direction and guide posts in how to more successfully brand and market effectively with social media.

    All the Best,
